The e-Ticket for entering and leaving the Dominican Republic

This is the most searched procedure in the whole Dominican consular vertical in the United States, and no consulate handles it. The e-Ticket is a digital form from the Directorate General of Migration that you fill out to enter and also to leave the country.
It is done online, it is free, and it takes a few minutes. Anyone charging you to fill it out is selling something that costs nothing.
What the e-Ticket actually is
It is a single form shared by three bodies: the Directorate General of Migration, the Directorate General of Customs and the Ministry of Public Health. It replaced the paper forms travelers used to fill out on the plane.
Four Dominican laws make it mandatory: 285-04, 115-17, 72-02 and 226-06. This is not an airline requirement. It comes from the State.

When to fill it out, and what happens without it
Do it in the days before the flight, once the ticket is issued. The system returns a QR code to carry on your phone or printed out.

Every passenger needs their own, children included, although one submission can cover a family traveling together. Without the code, immigration sends you to fill it out on the spot, with the line that implies.

Entry and exit are two separate things
This is the part people miss. The e-Ticket covers the whole trip, so you must complete the exit section too before flying back to the United States. Plenty of travelers fill out only the arrival half and hit the problem at the departure gate.
What it asks for
Passport, flight and accommodation details, plus a health section and a customs section covering what you are carrying. Nothing you do not already have once the ticket is booked.
Does the consulate play any part?
No. No Dominican consular office processes the e-Ticket or can do it for you. Turn up at the consulate to ask and they will point you at the same website you can use from home.
What the consulate does handle is the passport and, if yours is lost and you need to travel urgently, the carta de ruta.
The e-Ticket covers entry AND exit: plenty of people fill out only half and hit the problem on the flight back.Details verified on 8 September 2026.
