Requirements and fees at Dominican consulates

Almost every Dominican consular procedure asks for the same things, and having them ready saves a second visit.

On fees, plainly: several are not published. The official pages for legalizations, certified copies, certifications and sworn declarations write «the fee is:» and leave the number blank. We do not invent a figure or copy one off a forum.

What almost every procedure asks for

  • A valid Dominican identity document: cédula or passport
  • A birth certificate issued from 2014 onwards, for anything passport-related
  • Full details of the other party, where the procedure involves someone else
  • The original document as well as the copy, where a certified copy is needed
  • Payment in US dollars
  • That particular office’s appointment

Where to ask about the rest

Anything not published gets asked when you book, which is when the office tells you the exact amount and how to pay. And if their answer differs from what you read elsewhere, believe the office.

We are not an official body. consuladosdominicana.us collects and checks information on Dominican consulates in the United States, with no link to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

No appointments are booked here and nothing is charged for. Always confirm the detail with the office that covers you.
